Uplift the Spirit of Star Players with Low Confidence

Great Products are built by Great Execution Team.
As a Product Leader, your role is to bring a shared understanding of customer problems to the scrum team. The success of the product lies in the execution of the team. This blog is about working with scrum teams so that you enable them to create great products.
“Behind every successful and great Product is a great team”.
In scrum teams, there is always a combination of mixed players.
In Cricket, star players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya are very clear about their skills, role, deliverables and outcomes. These star players are high in confidence and are also in glamour. Similarly, You will also have these high-performing star players in your scrum teams.

Then there are other Star players like Dinesh Karthik, who perform like Stars but are low in confidence.

When you bring the problems to the team where you have these star players with low confidence, you won’t see a lot of confidence initially in them about being able to solve the problems. However, your role as a product leader is to believe in these players and uplift their spirit. These players are not in glamour and are very silent, but they can create solutions for the customers and solve the issues at hand.

Remember while working with these star-performing players with low confidence and low glamour, you need to uplift their confidence and keep a very positive outlook towards them. This uplifts the overall thought process and creates a positive environment in the team to be able to build great products.

As a product leader, you need to be careful and avoid any negative perception in your mind toward these players who perform like stars but are quiet and low in confidence.

This post is for those star players with low confidence and less glamour.

Lesson –
  1. A successful product leader must have leadership qualities so that he can build great products with his team.
  2. Keep a positive outlook while working with scrum teams and believe in their capabilities as a team.
  3. Avoid negative perceptions in your mind toward scrum teams.
